Badminton Champs!
Yesterday I played a round robin of badminton with the school teachers. I was teamed up with Ogata-sensei, an youngish science teacher. He’s swimming in the triathlon so we called ourselves the “Triathlon Team.”
We played three other teams, two games each without stopping. And it was a shut-out! I most often started out the serving and racked up a good 3-4 points before we had to turn over. We had good teamwork!
Ogata-sensei is serious about badminton—he brought his own racket to the game and made me practice a ton before the games started! I’ve played about three times in my life, but I must have some natural talent for the sport cause I rock! So long as Ogata got all the really fast birdies, I kept smashing short returns into the other court.
It was a lot of fun, but my back is really sore today. I woke up feeling really old and in need of a back massage. All worth it for the love of the game!!
